As the holidays draw closer, 2024’s eleventh hour brings us a breathtaking symphony! On this 7th night of November, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra presents GRAMMY Award winner Maxim Vengerov on his second consecutive engagement at the Isaac Stern Auditorium. The 2-hour event also marks a third overall show in New York for the world-renowned musician, who will continue his exhibition of Mozart’s Classical concertos.

Often regarded as the “greatest living string player today,” Israeli soloist Maxim Vengerov shall astound everyone with the virtuosic techniques honed in a lifetime of passion and study, vibrating through his beloved Stradivarius violin. He has been granted many accolades throughout his prodigious career, which include two distinguished Gramophone Classical Music Awards, five Edison Awards, and Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (without Orchestra) at the 48th GRAMMY Awards.

On this pristine Thursday evening, our esteemed guest shall lead the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in honoring Mozart’s iconic violin concertos, beginning with No. 2 in D Major, K. 211. The immensely famed No. 5 in A Major, K. 219, otherwise known as the “Turkish,” will follow suit before the climactic pinnacle of Sinfonia concertante in E-flat Major, K. 364. For this final piece, Vengerov will be accompanied by Cobbett Medalist and Royal Philharmonic Society Instrumentalist of the Year Lawrence Power on viola, lending a unique versatility to the shared performance.

Half a century since its foundation, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra has remained loyal to its vision of excellence through collaboration. Absent a traditional conductor at the podium, the ensemble has achieved open-minded artistry and a free-spirited style that will enrich your life long after the curtains close. Join them — the 43rd GRAMMY Award winners for Best Small Ensemble Performance — and become empowered by extraordinary music in Midtown Manhattan’s finest. Once more, the prestigious Carnegie Hall welcomes the orchestra to its Isaac Stern Auditorium, the stage of historic figures such as Horowitz and Groucho Marx. Remarked for its ornate beauty, the hall also offers 2,790 crimson velvet seats across a tiered balcony setup and concert acoustics perfected to pin-prick precision.

Witness the magnificent Maxim Vengerov in the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra’s final encore for 2024 this Thursday, November 7th, at the Isaac Stern Auditorium / Ronald O. Perelman Stage! Book your reservations soon using the link above.
